2018-19 HOSTS (Help One Student To Succeed)

The MSD of Wayne Township’s HOSTS program is focused on helping second and third grade students in reading. Mentors participate in the HOSTS Program at Stout Field one hour a week and work with the same two students for 30 minutes each. All the materials are prepared for the mentor, and the HOSTS instructor is in the classroom with the mentors during HOSTS to support and assist them.

Mentor Qualifications:
A desire to help make a difference in the life of a child.

Time Required:
One hour a week

HOSTS Schedule:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
3rd Grade: 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
2nd Grade: 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Training:HOSTS mentors are asked to attend a training session to acquaint them with the HOSTS program and the materials that are used. The HOSTS teacher is always available during the mentoring session to assist the volunteers.
