HOSTS (Helping One Student To Succeed)

An hour of your week during the school year provides the one-to-one attention that helps a student to succeed. You can make a difference!

The MSD of Wayne Township’s HOSTS program is focused on helping third and fourth grade students in reading. Mentors work one-to-one with a student for 30 minutes each, using easy-to-follow lesson plans prepared by the HOSTS staff, that target specific reading skills. Mentors simply carry out the instructions for the day. The only qualification needed is the desire to help a student. All the materials are prepared for the mentor, and the HOSTS instructor is in the classroom with the mentors during HOSTS to support and assist them.

Mentors participate in the HOSTS Program at Stout Field one hour a week and work with the same two students, each student for one-to one time 30 minutes each.
